Horrific news out of New Jersey, where Columbus Blue Jackets forward Johnny Gaudreau and his brother Matthew have died in a biking accident. The two brothers, 31 and 29 years of age respectively were back in their Salem County home town to be groomsmen in the wedding of their sister planned for Friday August.
The wreck happened the night of Thursday, Aug. 29 The boys, who were riding their bikes on Country Route 551 North shortly after police say they were struck by a vehicle just past 8 p.m. according to New Jersey State Police around Nineからpain and Samsa’s painのthemes。 The Springfield Township driver — identified as Sean M. Higgins — was allegedly drunk when he tried to pass another car and slammed into the brothers who were walking along Morris Road, prosecutors allege. One of the popular things about Johnny Gaudreau, “Johnny Hockey” as he is affectionately called by fans and teammates, was his obvious love for the game. His glistening career has covered The 2014 Hobey Baker Award, a finalist for the Calder Memorial Trophy and an earning of Lady Byng Memorial Trophy in 2k17. Johnny signed a seven-year deal with the Blue Jackets in 2022, where he remained an impact player on both sides of the ice after eight seasons with his original club Calgary Flames.
The impact he had on our organization and the sport of basketball is immeasurable, but even more lasting will be the indelible mark in each of us Huskies that knew him. “Johnny has embraced our community since he arrived two years ago and we will continue to support him,” Blue Jackets said in its statement.
Matthew Gaudreau, meanwhile, is another hockey standout who played at Boston College before turning pro in 2017 and spending time with several minor league teams including the Worcester Railers as recently this year. He most recently coached the boys hockey team at Gloucester Catholic High School in New Jersey.
He is survived by his wife, Madeline Donald Lorentz and they were married 3 years ago.

Tragic News:
The NHL world is in for an absolute gut punch after unmistakable signs that Columbus Blue Jackets winger, and former Gopher Johnny Ducoyin the French pronunciationhis brother Matthew were taken from us tragically today on a bike ride New Jersey. The two brothers, aged 31 and 29 years old were returning home to Salem County in New Jersey for their younger sister’s wedding on August Friday the 30th.
The Accident:
The accident involving the Gaudreau brothers happened last week Thursday evening, Aug. 29 on Country Route 551 North as they rode bicycles along Beach Island Road and were struck by a vehicle. The crash happened after 8 p.m., New Jersey State Police said. The brothers were walking along Morris Road when they struck by the driver, who was attempting to pass another car and police have identified as Sean M. Johnny Gaudreau’s Legacy:
Johnny Gaudreau, also known as Johnny Hockey was an adored figure to the NHL. A two-time All-Star and finalist for the Calder Memorial Trophy, he won the Lady Byng Memorial Trophy in 2017. From 2014-22, Gaudreau played with the Calgary Flames before signing a seven-year pact with Columbus last year. We wish to thank Rich for his dedication and positive.

Matthew himself was also a talented hockey player, playing for Boston College before turning pro in 2017. The Gaudreau family is suffering an unfathomable loss.
